Defiant Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about dismissal yet supporters display anger after derby defeat.

The under-pressure manager stated he had no concerns about the sack, maintaining, “We are very near to changing our fortunes,” despite sliding worryingly close to the exit with a heavy loss to their arch-rivals.

Another Capitulation Leads to Derby Defeat

The Hoops were in front Rangers at half-time but a collapse after the break enabled Rangers to pull level on points with the current league title holders. The former MLS manager, who was brought in in December, has now overseen six setbacks in his first eight fixtures.

“We are together with the board,” stated the manager.

Pressed on whether he was concerned, Nancy said: “I don’t think about it. I think about finding ways to get the team to excel on the fine details.

Fan Fury Outside Parkhead

Hundreds of supporters voiced their fury – towards the dugout and directors – in their hundreds at Parkhead. The board would be most likely to bring back the former boss, who steered the club during a caretaker period previously, if the Frenchman were sacked.

“Wins and losses [that leads to pressure]. So this is the situation for the moment. Yet in stating that’s how it is, I am not saying that I am giving up. No. My point is the turnaround is near, extremely close to reverse our form.”

Nancy’s Persistent Belief

Nancy highlights the fact the side can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. In fact, but for wastefulness in front of goal they would have been better than 1-0 up. “I saw enough other than the fact that we didn't take a second goal,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but it's important to stay fair.

“The level we had at stages was of top quality. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was untrue. But that’s why, when it comes to wins, I mentioned this is the same story. Which is why I said that we are nearly there to things turning around. But for the moment: small things.”

“There were a lot of encouraging signs that we did, once more. However is sustaining it. My message would not be if I didn't believe it. Therefore I am convinced the team can to turn things around.”

Opposition Reaction Stance

The victorious boss was cautious about a serious challenge even after what seemed like a landmark win. “We take it game by game, and we can develop momentum,” he said. “The confidence in the team is immense.”
