Tottenham Considering Transferring Attacker Welsh International Johnson.

Wales international Brennan Johnson
Brennan Johnson has won 42 times for Wales after his first appearance two years ago.

Spurs' Europa League final match-winner Brennan Johnson finds himself in an uncertain future in North London amid growing Premier League interest in his services.

Reports indicate that Tottenham, while not actively looking to part with the Wales international, are open to letting Johnson leave should they receive a substantial bid.

The Eagles are presently the team furthest along in their pursuit for Johnson, but several clubs are said to be keeping tabs on his status closely.

Last Campaign of Contrasts

Johnson was Spurs' leading Premier League goalscorer the previous campaign with eleven strikes, and etched his name in Spurs folklore by netting the winner in their European final triumph over United in Bilbao, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

However, the departure of Ange Postecoglou and arrival of Thomas Frank has meant Johnson occupying more of a reduced role in the current campaign.

The 24-year-old, has been granted only six Premier League starting appearances this term.

Transfer Market Interest Grows

Consequently, a host of clubs have been alerted to his potential availability ahead of the January transfer window.

Given his limited game time and the looming possibility of a World Cup approaching with his national team, a transfer elsewhere from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may suit Johnson next month.

Johnson joined Tottenham from Forest in a deal valued at £47.5m in the 2023 summer window and has notched 27 goals in all competitions.

Key Points

  • The Welsh international's position at Spurs is currently in doubt.
  • Tottenham is not actively marketing him but would consider offers.
  • Crystal Palace are at the front of the queue, with other Premier League clubs interested.
  • The arrival of manager has limited his playing time significantly.
  • The January transfer window and Wales's commitments could influence a January exit.
