Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The three contenders were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The event will be aired from 19:00 GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
